Orange-vanilla spiced cider in a glass

Orange-Vanilla Spiced Cider

Cider is a traditional apple-based beverage that has been enjoyed for centuries in the colder months. It is particularly popular in Anglo-Saxon countries, where it is often enriched with spices, honey, and citrus fruits. The fragrant aroma of orange and the sweet touch of vanilla create a perfect balance with the warmth of cinnamon and cloves. This drink is especially loved during the autumn and winter seasons, when a cup of steaming cider in your hands instantly brings a festive mood. It's an excellent choice for gatherings with friends or a pleasant, cozy evening at home. Tip: For an even more intense flavor experience, you can add a little rum or brandy!

    Preparation Steps

    1

Pour the apple juice into a medium saucepan and begin to heat over medium heat.

    2

Halve the orange and squeeze out the juice. Add the squeezed orange peels to the saucepan to get a more intense citrus flavor.

    3

Slice the vanilla bean in half lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. Add both the seeds and the pod to the saucepan.

    4

Add the cinnamon stick, cloves, and a pinch of nutmeg, then stir to combine.

    5

Simmer the cider over low heat for 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Do not let it boil; it should just gently simmer.

    6

Remove from the heat and stir in the honey. Stir well until completely dissolved.

    7

Strain the cider to remove the spices and orange peels. Then, pour it into glasses and serve warm.
