Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). If using a convection oven, preheat to 320°F (160°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar and vanilla sugar until you have a creamy mixture.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
Gradually add the milk while mixing until you have a smooth batter.
Stir the peanut butter into the batter to give it a rich, nutty flavor.
Fill the cupcake liners with the batter and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
