    Preparation Steps

    1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 9-inch (22 cm) tart pan with parchment paper.

    2

Peel, core, and thinly slice the pears.

    3

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.

    4

In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

    5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Then, add the milk and mix until you have a smooth batter.

    6

Pour the batter into the prepared tart pan. Arrange the pear slices on top in a spiral pattern.

    7

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

    8

Let the tart cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it and place it on a wire rack to cool completely.

    9

Before serving, dust with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh pear slices or whipped cream.
