In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, pepper, and crushed garlic. Shape the mixture into four equal-sized patties.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Toast the insides of the burger buns until lightly golden and crispy.
Spread tomato sauce on the insides of the toasted buns, sprinkle with dried oregano, and top with a slice of mozzarella cheese. If needed, warm in the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Assemble the burgers: place iceberg lettuce on the bottom bun, top with a cooked patty, arrange pepperoni slices on top, and add fresh basil leaves. Cover with the top bun and serve immediately.
