    Preparation Steps

    1

Prepare the ingredients. Wash the plums, remove the pits, and dice them. Chop the marzipan into small pieces.

    2

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and a pinch of salt.

    3

Dice the cold butter, then add it to the flour mixture. Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

    4

Add the diced plums and marzipan to the dough and mix thoroughly.

    5

In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, then add the milk. Gradually add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.

    6

Shape the dough into a disc and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lightly flatten the top and use a sharp knife to cut crosswise slashes into the top of the disc.

    7

Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until the scones are nicely golden brown.

    8

Let the scones cool slightly before serving.
