Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Prepare a cake pan by lining it with parchment paper or greasing and flouring it.
In a large bowl, combine the ground poppy seeds, flour, baking powder, and sugar.
Melt the butter, then add it to the milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.
Add the eggs one at a time to the dry ingredients, then mix in the milk and butter mixture. Stir until the batter is smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, then arrange the drained peach slices on top.
Bake the cake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool completely.
Before serving, dust with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh peach slices or poppy seeds.
