Roasted sausage is not just a simple dish, but one of the best-known and most popular dishes of Hungarian gastronomy. Fresh, spicy sausage, properly prepared to create a delicious dish, makes every meal special. It occupies a prominent place among roasts and is an indispensable part not only of family dinners but also of summer barbecues.
This recipe provides a simple, quick, but complete meal. The sausage is best grilled or pan-fried to bring out the flavors of the spices and the meat. Roasted sausage is served as a side dish during most Hungarian meals, for example with pickles or fresh bread, creating a real domestic flavor bomb.
Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the finely chopped onion and garlic until softened.
Add the sliced bell pepper and sauté for a few minutes.
Cut the sausage into approximately 5 cm pieces and place them in the pan.
Cook the sausages over medium heat until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve the roasted sausage with fresh bread, mustard and pickles, or as a side dish with roasted potatoes or rice.
