Wash and dry the lettuce leaves, then tear them into smaller pieces. Peel, pit, and thinly slice the avocado. Slice the salmon into long, narrow strips.
Prepare the dressing: in a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, and finely chopped dill. This fresh, lemony dill sauce complements the salmon and avocado perfectly.
Steam the bao buns in a bamboo steamer or using a strainer placed over a large pot. Cover and steam for 6-8 minutes, or until completely soft.
Once the bao buns are soft, gently open them. Place some lettuce on the bottom half, then layer with avocado slices and salmon.
Drizzle the assembled bao buns with the lemon-dill mayonnaise. Tip: for extra freshness, add a few drops of fresh lemon juice on top before serving.
Sprinkle with black sesame seeds and garnish with microgreens. Serve immediately for the best taste!
