Gently warm the apple cider in a medium saucepan over low heat.
In a separate saucepan, melt the butter, then add the brown sugar. Cook, stirring constantly, until a smooth caramel forms.
Once the caramel is golden brown, pour in the heavy cream and stir until smooth and well combined.
Add the caramel to the warm cider, then stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of coarse sea salt.
Let the drink warm through for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Before serving, divide into mugs, top with whipped cream, and sprinkle with a touch of sea salt for that extra special flavor.
