Sesame ginger tomato sauce served

Sesame Ginger Tomato Sauce

Sesame ginger tomato sauce is a beloved variation in Asian cuisine, blending the rich flavors of fresh ginger, sesame oil, and soy sauce. This sauce perfectly complements grilled meats, pasta, or even vegetables. As the ginger and garlic sizzle in the sesame oil, the aromas instantly fill the kitchen, while the tomatoes slowly simmer to create a silky and rich sauce. The crunch of toasted sesame seeds and the spicy notes of chili make this sauce truly special. The secret to the perfect sauce lies in the freshness of the ingredients and the balance of flavors. If you crave a more intense flavor profile, add more ginger or chili. The sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for days, so you can grab it anytime you need a quick and tasty addition.

    Preparation Steps

    1

Prepare the ingredients: wash and chop the tomatoes, peel and grate the ginger and garlic.

    2

In a medium saucepan, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the grated ginger and garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

    3

Add the chopped tomatoes and stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and chili flakes.

    4

Simmer the sauce over low heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes are completely softened and the sauce has thickened.

    5

Once thickened, remove from the heat and let it cool slightly. Then, blend until smooth with an immersion blender or in a regular blender.

    6

Season with salt, then sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. Serve warm or cold with grilled meats, pasta, or as a dipping sauce.
