Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a cake pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and vanilla sugar.
Melt the butter and cream it together with the granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center – it should come out clean.
Let the cake cool completely, then slice it in half horizontally and fill with whipped cream.
Decorate the top of the cake with powdered sugar and fresh fruit.
