Smoked BBQ turkey breast with honey-lemon glaze served

Smoked BBQ Turkey Breast with Honey-Lemon Glaze

Smoked BBQ turkey breast with honey-lemon glaze is a special dish that combines the rich flavor of turkey with a sweet and citrusy BBQ glaze. The natural juiciness of the turkey breast is perfected by slow smoking and a honey-lemon coating. Turkey has traditionally been a staple on holiday tables, but it is also gaining popularity in the BBQ world. The smoke from apple or oak wood enhances the natural flavor of the turkey, while honey and lemon create a balance between smoky and refreshing aromas. This dish is an ideal choice for an authentic BBQ party, family barbecue, or even a holiday table. If you really want an authentic BBQ experience, serve it with grilled vegetables and a serving of roasted potatoes!

    Preparation Steps

    1

Thoroughly wash and pat dry the turkey breast. In a bowl, combine the salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, brown sugar, and ground cumin. Rub the mixture generously over the turkey breast.

    2

Drizzle with olive oil, then let it rest for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

    3

Preheat your smoker or grill to 225-250°F (110-120°C), and prepare your chosen smoking wood for the desired aroma.

    4

Place the turkey breast on the smoker rack and smoke for 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (72°C).

    5

In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, fresh lemon juice, and BBQ sauce.

    6

When the turkey reaches an internal temperature of 158°F (70°C), brush it with the honey-lemon glaze. Continue to smoke for another 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the glaze to set.

    7

Remove the turkey breast from the smoker and let it rest for at least 15 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

    8

Thinly slice and serve with grilled vegetables or roasted potatoes.
