Finely chop the chipotle peppers to ensure they blend easily into the sauce.
In a medium saucepan, heat the BBQ sauce over medium heat.
Add the tomato paste, chopped chipotle peppers, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
Cook, stirring constantly, for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has slightly thickened.
Season with salt and black pepper. Add water if needed to reach the desired consistency.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Serve with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or burgers.
