In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
Add the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and lukewarm milk. Mix until you have a smooth dough.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Heat the oil in a deep skillet or fryer to about 350°F (180°C).
Using a spoon, form small dough balls and carefully drop them into the hot oil.
Fry the donuts for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown, turning them occasionally.
Remove the fried donuts with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
While still warm, dust generously with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
