In a bowl, combine the ground meat with the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well, then form into small meatballs.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the meatballs for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Set aside.
In the same skillet, warm the tomato sauce. Add salt, pepper, and a few fresh basil leaves.
Gently place the meatballs into the tomato sauce. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Cook the spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and transfer to a large serving bowl.
To serve, divide the spaghetti among plates, top with the meatballs and tomato sauce. Garnish with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.
