Slice the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds to infuse the drink with an intense vanilla flavour.
Thoroughly wash the orange and slice it into thin rounds.
Peel the ginger and slice it into thin pieces.
Pour the apple cider into a medium-sized saucepan and heat over medium heat.
Add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, orange slices, ginger, vanilla bean and nutmeg.
Slowly heat the cider, being careful not to boil it, allowing the spices to meld together beautifully. This should take about 15 minutes.
Stir in the honey until it is completely dissolved.
Strain the finished cider to remove the spices and orange peels.
Serve warm in heat-resistant mugs, garnishing with a slice of orange or a cinnamon stick.
