Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a cake pan with parchment paper or grease and flour it.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and ground spices.
In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in the orange juice and orange zest into the egg mixture. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely in the pan before removing.
Before serving, dust the cake with powdered sugar. You can also garnish with freshly grated orange zest or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
