Spiced red wine served in a glass

Spiced Red Wine

Spiced red wine, commonly known as mulled wine, has been a beloved beverage during the festive season for centuries. The warming cinnamon, cloves, and refreshing aroma of orange create a unique harmony, while honey adds a touch of sweetness. This drink is ideal for winter evenings, gatherings with friends, or warming up after a cold walk. Tip: For an even more special touch, add a little star anise.

    Preparation Steps

    1

In a large saucepan, pour in the red wine, then add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, and nutmeg.

    2

Wash the orange thoroughly and cut it into thin slices. Add the orange slices to the wine in the saucepan.

    3

Start heating the wine over low heat, being careful not to let it boil, as this will cause the alcohol to evaporate.

    4

Let the spiced wine simmer over low heat for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

    5

Remove the saucepan from the heat, then add the honey. Stir well until the honey is completely dissolved.

    6

Strain the wine to remove the spices, then pour it into glasses. Serve warm, and garnish with an orange slice.
