Spinach lasagna layered with golden brown cheese on top

Spinach Lasagna

Spinach Lasagna is a truly special dish that combines the traditional flavors of Italian cuisine with fresh, vegetable additions. In the layers of the lasagna, we place a rich spinach cream, which creates perfect harmony with cheese and béchamel. The taste of the food is a unique mixture of soft spinach, salty cheese, and spicy meat (or a meat-free version). Spinach lasagna is a lighter, but very mouth-watering, alternative to traditional meat lasagna. This dish is loved by those who like vegetable-rich, but also hearty dishes.

This recipe is a perfect choice if you are looking for a light but filling meal.

    Preparation Steps

    1

Finely chop the onion and garlic and sauté in olive oil until softened.

    2

Add the washed spinach, season with salt and pepper, and cook for a few minutes until wilted.

    3

Combine the spinach with the ricotta cheese and set aside.

    4

Melt the butter, add the flour, and gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg to create a béchamel sauce.

    5

Grease a baking dish with olive oil. Layer the lasagna sheets, spinach and ricotta mixture, béchamel sauce, and grated Parmesan cheese.

    6

Sprinkle the top with mozzarella cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 30 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.

    7

Let the lasagna cool slightly before slicing and serving.
