Thoroughly wash the strawberries, remove the leaves and stems, then thinly slice them. Set aside in a cool place to keep them fresh until serving.
Break the white chocolate into small pieces, then melt it over a double boiler or in the microwave on low heat. Be careful not to overheat it, as white chocolate can easily burn and become grainy.
Steam the bao buns: place them in a bamboo or metal steamer lined with parchment paper, and steam for 5-6 minutes, until fully warmed through and soft.
Gently open the softened bao buns, then fill each with a portion of fresh strawberry slices and drizzle with the melted white chocolate. Make sure the chocolate is not too hot, otherwise the strawberries may release their juices.
Serve immediately, while the chocolate is still slightly melted. Tip: for a special touch, you can mix a little vanilla extract or orange zest into the chocolate.
