In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix thoroughly, then divide into four equal portions and form into patties about 2 cm thick.
Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Brush the patties with a little olive oil and cook on both sides for about 3-4 minutes, or until nicely seared.
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cover the skillet to allow the cheese to melt.
In another skillet, melt the butter and add the minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute, then add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown.
Meanwhile, halve the hamburger buns and toast them in a dry skillet or brushed with a little butter until golden brown on the inside.
Prepare the vegetables: slice the tomato and red onion into thin rounds.
In a bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard, then spread it on the cut sides of the toasted buns.
Assemble the hamburger: place lettuce leaves on the bottom bun, followed by the cheesy beef patty, the sautéed shrimp, tomato slices, and red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
Serve immediately, preferably with french fries or a fresh salad. Tip: For an even richer flavor, squeeze a little fresh lemon juice over the shrimp before serving.
