Swedish beef burger served

Swedish Beef Burger

The Swedish Beef Burger is a modern twist on traditional Swedish meatballs, born from the intersection of fast-food culture and traditional cuisine. This burger offers a perfect balance between juicy ground beef, spices, and a crispy bun, while the pickles add freshness and tanginess to the dish. It originally became popular in Sweden in the mid-20th century, when the influence of American fast-food restaurants reached Europe, but it has since become part of international cuisine.

    Preparation Steps

    1

Place the ground beef in a large bowl. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, and dried thyme. Mix well to combine.

    2

Shape the mixture into four equal patties. Make sure to leave the center of the patties slightly thinner to ensure even cooking.

    3

Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties on both sides until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.

    4

Toast the inside of the burger buns in a skillet or oven until crispy.

    5

Assemble the burgers: place the beef patty on the bottom half of the bun, top with a slice of pickle, and cover with the top half of the bun.
