Gently warm the apple cider in a medium saucepan over low heat.
Add the brown sugar, cinnamon stick, and a pinch of salt. Stir well and let the flavors meld for about 5 minutes.
Stir in the cherry puree, ensuring it's fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
Add the vanilla extract, then let the cider heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
Strain the cider to remove the cinnamon stick. Divide into mugs or glasses.
Before serving, garnish with whipped cream and fresh cherries.
