Tandoori Chicken is a true Indian specialty made with chicken cooked in a tandoor oven with a spiced marinade. The chicken first rests in a yogurt and spice marinade so that the flavors completely permeate the meat, and then it is cooked in a tandoor oven or a simple oven until it is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The spices in the marinade, such as garam masala, turmeric, cumin and paprika, give the dish a distinctive flavor that we have only experienced in Indian restaurants. The food is just as spicy as it is fragrant and mouth-watering.
For lovers of Indian cuisine, Tandoori Chicken is an unmissable dish that offers a spicy experience in every bite.
Wash and clean the chicken drumsticks, then make a few incisions in the meat.
In a bowl, combine the yogurt, grated garlic, ginger, turmeric, Hungarian sweet paprika, garam masala, chili powder, lemon juice, salt, and oil.
Coat the chicken drumsticks thoroughly in the yogurt marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
Preheat your grill or oven to 400°F (200°C). Grill or bake the marinated chicken drumsticks for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked through and the skin is crispy.
Serve the tandoori chicken with fresh vegetables and rice or naan bread.
