Tequila croissants served

Tequila Croissants

The croissant is a classic French pastry that has been adapted in numerous ways over the centuries. Tequila, a distinctly Mexican spirit typically used in cocktails, now appears with a unique twist in the croissant filling. The combination of chocolate and tequila results in a deep, rich flavor that the lime zest makes even more refreshing. This croissant is the perfect choice for a bolder, more special breakfast or an exclusive dessert. If you like unique, distinctive flavors, you must try this recipe!

    Preparation Steps

    1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    2

Lightly flour a surface, unfold the puff pastry, and cut it into equal-sized triangles.

    3

Melt the dark chocolate over a double boiler or in the microwave. Stir in the butter, tequila, and finely grated lime zest until smooth.

    4

Spoon a small amount of the chocolate-tequila filling onto the wider end of each pastry triangle. Roll them up into croissant shapes.

    5

Place the croissants on the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down to prevent them from unraveling during baking.

    6

Whisk together the egg yolk and milk. Brush the mixture over the tops of the croissants to create a beautiful golden-brown color.

    7

Bake the croissants for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

    8

Let them cool slightly on the baking sheet, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
