Slice the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds to release its intense aroma.
Thoroughly wash the orange and slice it into thin rounds.
Pour the apple cider into a medium-sized saucepan and heat over medium heat.
Add the vanilla bean (and seeds), cinnamon stick, cloves, and orange slices to the saucepan.
Slowly heat the cider, being careful not to boil, allowing the flavors to meld. This should take about 15 minutes.
Stir in the honey until it is completely dissolved.
Strain the cider to remove the spices and orange peel.
Serve warm in heat-resistant glasses, garnished with an orange slice or a cinnamon stick.
