Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a cake pan.
In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and ground walnuts.
Melt the butter and cream it together with the granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth after each addition.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in the ground walnuts and milk.
Once the cake has cooled, slice it in half horizontally. Spread the walnut cream filling evenly between the layers and over the top and sides of the cake.
Garnish the top of the cake with whole walnuts and a dusting of powdered sugar.
