Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 9-inch (22 cm) cake pan with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Melt the butter and let it cool slightly. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla extract, milk, and melted butter to the egg mixture. Gently fold in the dry ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
Gently fold in half of the mixed wild berries, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and sprinkle the remaining berries over the top.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Before serving, dust with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh berries or whipped cream.
