    Preparation Steps

    1

Rinse the glutinous rice thoroughly several times, then soak in cold water for at least 4-6 hours, or preferably overnight.

    2

If using mung beans, soak them separately, drain, and cook until tender, about 20 minutes.

    3

Drain the rice and place it in a steamer or bamboo steamer. Steam over medium heat for 30-40 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through and tender.

    4

In a saucepan, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.

    5

Transfer the steamed rice to a large bowl and gradually stir in the coconut milk mixture, allowing the rice to absorb the liquid evenly.

    6

If using mung beans, mix them with the rice, or sprinkle on top before serving.

    7

Garnish with toasted sesame seeds, peanuts, and freshly shredded coconut before serving.

    8

Serve warm or at room temperature. It can also be served with fresh fruit.
